Tree planting at Murang'a Technical Training Institute

Planting a tree is an investment in the future,a symbol of hope and a commitment to a better world. When done in a school compound, it creates a greener, healthier space for learning while teaching students the value of nature and responsibility. It's a simple act that leaves a lasting legacy, inspiring future generations to care for the environment.

WAYA’s Walk Against Drugs and Tree Planting Initiative

We spoke to the young people gathered, and emphasized the importance of joining movements like the Muranga Young Professionals (MYP), where we are looking forward to working closely with both the county and national government. Through MYP, we hope to lobby for more opportunities that empower and uplift our youth.

1st Muranga Investment Conference

This platform has brought us closer to the reality of the Murang’a Young Professionals (MYP) mission, to elevate careers and impact communities. We thank the Murang’a County Leadership for the opportunity to engage with investors and potential partners. This experience has renewed our energy and sharpened our focus for the work that lies ahead.

How MYP is changing lives

Murang’a Young Professionals has become a safe and welcoming space for all youth, no matter their background. This was seen when a young man from Kiriani shared his struggles with mental health and life frustrations while trying to earn a living. A member trained in mental wellness reached out and offered free counselling, showing how MYP’s impact goes beyond professional growth.

After sharing his struggles, things began to change. With support from MYP through counselling, encouragement, and guidance,he slowly found hope again. He started taking part in group activities, helping with events, and encouraging other young people. What started as a cry for help became a story of growth. His journey shows how MYP can truly change lives when we care for each other.

Testimonials

Joining Murang'a Young Professionals has had a real impact on me. As a software engineer, I often worked in my own bubble, but this group gave me a chance to connect with people who truly understand the value of growth and community. It’s through this platform that I’ve gained exposure to new ideas, met mentors, and discovered opportunities I wouldn’t have found on my own. More than anything, it’s helped me see how much we can achieve when we support each other. I’m grateful to be part of something that not only pushes me forward in my career but also reminds me of the importance of giving back.

The resources and programs offered have furnished me with treasurable skills, and the mentorship I have received helped me gain the relevant confidence to pursue my goals. I have made lifelong friendships and have witnessed personal growth that I never thought possible. My utmost gratitude to MYP, I am now thriving both professionally and personally, and I cannot imagine my life without their support.

As part of Murang’a Young Professionals, we recently met with a KNCCI leader. The goal was to seek guidance and explore possible areas of partnership between the Chamber and Murang’a Young Professionals. The conversation was insightful, and we were encouraged by the willingness to walk this journey with us. After the meeting and since it was my first time meeting this leader,I took the opportunity to briefly share what I do professionally in interior design.Though there was no immediate link, I was later connected to a client and secured a project in gypsum installation, painting, and tiling. This became a valuable addition to my growing portfolio. This confirmed that MYP is a platform of real opportunities. Grateful for the visionary leadership driving us forward.
